Its More Fun in the Philippines

I have to commend the ADMAN and inspirational Secretary of Tourism, Mon Jimenez for this good
effort on the ad campaign of the Philippines. Many agencies bid for the right to label the Philippines,
and I have to say it is going on an upward success. "Its More Fun in the Philippines", is true about the
Filipino hospitality, and is even true about the Filipino.
I love the ring to it, especially because we really know how to have fun. I have been to so many
conventions, and those abroad. Nothing beats how Filipinos host conventions and how we can loosen
up tight businessmen to dance and enjoy. Its really our culture, the people that we are.
After meeting with the Secretary, he mentioned something that stuck. He asked that we should love
the country and that "we should stop shooting our own foot". True enough, so many did attempt to
put down the new tagline. But, I have so much confidence that Sec. Jimenez knows more about
marketing, advertising, and PR then many of us do. Indeed, today the tagline comes with Filipinos
having their own take of what is FUN in the Philippines.
I can think up a 100 ideas why it is more FUN in SOCCSKSARGEN. I am excited to share these with you
as the days go by. For now, here is my take on what is FUN in the Philippines, specifically in Region 12.
